SouthWest Edgecombe had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Hobgood Charter Raiders 3-0 on Wednesday. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Callie-Ann Webb paced SouthWest Edgecombe's offense, picking up six kills. Webb got some help from Payton Carraway and her 21 assists. Carraway was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Hobgood Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

SouthWest Edgecombe will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Farmville Central at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Hobgood Charter, they have already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Jones on the 14th.
