Notre Dame's win ends seven-game losing streak on the road

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Notre Dame Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Saxony Lutheran by a score of 57-50. This was payback for Notre Dame, who suffered a 64-54 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Saxony Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Eggemeyer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Eggemeyer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games he's played. John Hartmann was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Notre Dame's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8. As for Saxony Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Notre Dame will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dexter at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. As for Saxony Lutheran, they will head out on the road to take on Delta at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Delta will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
