Kosciusko and West Lauderdale pushed the score to 10-9 the last time they played West Lauderdale, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Whippets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-9 on Tuesday.

The victory made it two in a row for Kosciusko and bumps their season record up to 15-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for West Lauderdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Kosciusko will venture away from home to challenge Louisville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Whippets will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games. As for West Lauderdale, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sumrall at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
