Baseball Recap: Smithsburg Comes Up Short

After flying high against Clear Spring on Wednesday, Smithsburg came back down to earth. The Leopards fell just short of the North Hagerstown Hubs by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Leopards in their meetings with the Hubs: they've now lost five in a row.

Jaxon Teson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mason Oates, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Smithsburg's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for North Hagerstown, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithsburg will face off against Martinsburg at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Hagerstown, they will take on Musselman at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
