Baseball Game Preview: Centauri Falcons vs. Gunnison Cowboys

Centauri hasn't had much luck against Gunnison recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Cowboys at 3:00 p.m. Centauri has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Centauri couldn't beat Cedaredge on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Falcons fell 11-8 to the Bruins. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centauri got a massive performance out of Erik Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Garcia, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Gunnison entered their contest against Basalt last Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cowboys fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 15-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (ten), the Cowboys still had to take the loss.

Centauri's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Gunnison, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Centauri suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Gunnison in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
