Basketball Game Preview: Berkley Bears vs. Heritage Hawks

The Berkley Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Heritage Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkley will be strutting in after a victory while Heritage will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Berkley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Adams, but they still walked away with a 31-27 win. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Highlanders are ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Heritage's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Saturday. They fell 60-51 to Howell. The loss put an end to the Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Berkley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Heritage, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 6-1.

Berkley came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 42-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berkley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
