Basketball Game Preview: Avon Park Red Devils vs. Sebring Blue Streaks

Avon Park is 8-2 against Sebring since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Avon Park Red Devils will host the Sebring Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Avon Park didn't have too much trouble with Frostproof as they won 36-22. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Avon Park's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Keivelisse Soto, who posted 17 points and six rebounds, and Tytianna Allen, who put up ten points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those 17 points gave Soto a new career-high. Xzamia Remer-Sheffield was another key player, putting up four points and ten boards.

Avon Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Sebring beat Discovery 32-24 on Monday.

Sebring's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Avon Park, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Avon Park ended up a good deal behind Sebring in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 55-37. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sebring's Molly Jane Zwayer, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 23 rebounds. Now that Avon Park knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
