Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 68-44 to the Indian Springs Student. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Student are ranked 208th).

When it comes to explaining why Oak Grove lost, don't look at Kyler Pollistrini. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave Pollistrini a new career-high.

It was another big night for Dylan Heald, who had 37 points for Indian Springs. Heald's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ben Simms, who scored 14 points.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19-1. As for Indian Springs, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.

Oak Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-64 loss against Sumiton Christian on the 23rd. As for Indian Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 85-48 defeat against Fairfield on the 23rd.
