Softball Game Preview: Flat Rock Rams vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

The Flat Rock Rams will head out to challenge the Lincoln Railsplitters at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Flat Rock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Flat Rock is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Huron just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 4-3.

Addi Kopp made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Jaliynah Cerroni was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tecumseh on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Railsplitters' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 10-6-1. As for Flat Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-17.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Flat Rock hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Flat Rock might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Lincoln in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
