Baseball Recap: Mariner Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mariner can now relate to. They fell just short of the Palmetto Ridge Bears by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The Tritons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Mariner saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Muentes, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Mariner's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Palmetto Ridge, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-10.

Mariner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palmetto Ridge, they will face off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
