Recap: Union Yellowjackets vs. Charleston Tigers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Union Yellowjackets can now relate to. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 40-14 walloping at the hands of the Tigers on Friday. Union's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Union lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ky'yon Harris. Despite the final result, he rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Harris is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Charleston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deondre Riley, who picked up 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Latese Edwards also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Charleston, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Charleston is on the road again on Friday and play against Heidelberg at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Heidelberg's defense has only allowed 15.3 points per game this season, so Charleston's offense will have their work cut out for Charleston.
