Rocky Mount can attribute much of their success to Brelyn Moses, who posted 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, and Anthony Jones, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Moses' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kelijah Evans was another key player, putting up eight points.
Rocky Mount smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Roanoke Rapids posted their closest win since December 5, 2024 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklinton, sneaking past 61-58.
Roanoke Rapids' win came from a few key players Rocky Mount will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bobby Hawkins Jr., who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentez Richardson, who scored ten points and five assists.
Roanoke Rapids is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Rocky Mount, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rocky Mount has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Roanoke Rapids struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
