While Mattanawcook's victory against Stearns wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lynx sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Minutemen on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Lynx in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now won eight in a row.

Julianna Cloukey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Megan House, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Mattanawcook's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Stearns, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mattanawcook will face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stearns, they will square off against Schenck at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Minutemen surely won't give up without a fight.
