Preview: Twin Loup Wolves vs. Sandhills Valley Mavericks
After two games on the road, Twin Loup is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Sandhills Valley Mavericks on Friday. Hopefully Twin Loup focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Tuesday.
Twin Loup scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They took down Palmer 49-33. That looming 49-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Twin Loup yet this season.
Twin Loup can attribute much of their success to Cassidy Grint, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Grint pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madison Glidden, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Sandhills Valley, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a serious blow against Maywood/Hayes Center on Tuesday, falling 60-6. Sandhills Valley has not had much luck with Maywood/Hayes Center recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Twin Loup's victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Sandhills Valley, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Twin Loup took their victory against Sandhills Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 58-37. Does Twin Loup have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sandhills Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
