Baseball Recap: Evansville Central Comes Up Short

Evansville Central was the 6-2 winner over Boonville when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers on Monday.

Devon DeJarnette was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Owen Schoenhals, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Evansville Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Boonville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, Evansville Central is taking a road trip to square off against Evansville Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Boonville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Washington at 6:30 p.m.
