Recap: Mojave Rattlers vs. Foothill Falcons

On Tuesday, the Mojave Rattlers faced the Foothill Falcons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mojave received a tough blow as they fell 62-47 to Foothill. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mojave has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Mojave still got an impressive performance from C.J. Shaw, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Shaw is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Tony Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Mojave struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Foothill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zak Abdalla led the charge by scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Abdalla has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Shawn Salazar, who scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals.

Mojave has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Foothill, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.

Mojave will take on Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Las Vegas and four for Mojave. As for Foothill, they will head out on the road to square off against Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Coronado has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,339 points over their last 19 matches.
