University hadn't done well against Laguna Hills recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 15-1 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Carson Cruz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
