Basketball Game Preview: Pittsburg Panthers vs. Colebrook Academy Mohawks

Pittsburg is 2-8 against Colebrook Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pittsburg Panthers will face off against the Colebrook Academy Mohawks at 6:30 p.m.

Pittsburg came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They had to suffer through a 63-34 loss at the hands of Gorham. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Colebrook Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 64-59 W against the Crusaders. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Mohawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Crusaders are ranked second).

Pittsburg's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Colebrook Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Pittsburg didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Colebrook Academy in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pittsburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
