Baseball Recap: Hickory Comes Up Short

Hickory and North Iredell squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hickory had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-5. The Red Tornadoes just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for North Iredell, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bandys at 7:00 p.m. on the 27th. As for North Iredell, they will take on North Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
