Volleyball Game Preview: Potosi Chieftains vs. Shullsburg Miners

The Potosi Chieftains are taking a road trip to challenge the Shullsburg Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Potosi didn't have quite enough to beat Belmont and fell 3-2. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Potosi wouldn't go down easily and took Belmont into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-18, 25-16, 14-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Shullsburg came up short against Fennimore on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Potosi will have to contain Isabelle Wiegel as she made an impact in Shullsburg's last game. She had 18 digs and one assist. Wiegel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Potosi's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Shullsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Potosi couldn't quite get it done against Shullsburg when the teams last played on September 4th as they fell 3-1. Can the Chieftains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
