Baseball Recap: Howell Rebels vs. Brick Township Green Dragons

Howell fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Brick Township on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Brick Township Green Dragons by a score of 6-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Howell of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Rohan Shah was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chris Quick, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Peyton Horning, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a double.

Howell dropped their record down to 9-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Brick Township, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howell will face off against Brick Memorial at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brick Township, they will head out on the road to square off against Neptune at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Brick Township is facing Neptune at the right time seeing as Neptune is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
