Baseball Recap: Madison Triumphs

Madison posted their closest win since April 16th on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hanover Park Hornets, sneaking past 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Dodgers in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

James Doehner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Madison saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Ferris, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another was Andrew Haviland, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Madison's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Hanover Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9-1 record this season.

Hanover Park will take on Whippany Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison will be paying especially close attention to the Hornets' match: after the Hornets face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on Madison again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
