5A Region IV District 29 recap October 1, 2013

United South moved up to 570 from 635 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region IV District 29. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of falling to United 28-7.

Del Rio was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Rams defeated Winn 13-7 earlier in the week.

Aaron Swain threw for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Swain put up the best numbers through the air as Alexander beat Eagle Pass. Swain's favorite target this week was Marc Lozoya, who caught 7 passes for 114 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Eric Corona. The United star has 35 catches for 492 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Del Rio takes on the Bulldogs. At the moment, Frenchey McCrea's team is in fourth, while Alexander is in third.

Joel Lopez's team led 5A Region IV District 29 in scoring this week by notching 42 points on the Eagles. Swain ran for 69 yards in the win.
