Preview: Masterman vs. Science Leadership Academy
Masterman is 7-0 against Science Leadership Academy since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Masterman's road trip will continue as they head out to face Science Leadership Academy at 3:15 p.m. on December 28th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Masterman suffered a tough 63-41 defeat at the hands of Thomas A. Edison. While losing is never fun, Masterman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 700th, while Thomas A. Edison is ranked 248th).
Yuji Harrington put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Adams, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 66 points the game before, Science Leadership Academy were a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 56-19 loss at the hands of Philadelphia Academy Charter. Science Leadership Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-10.
Masterman bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Science Leadership Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Masterman barely slipped by Science Leadership Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 42-41. Does Masterman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Science Leadership Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
