Basketball Recap: University Takes a Loss

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 29-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Belton Tigers. The Trojans were probably out for revenge after losing 36-34 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

University's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Belton, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will take on Waco at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Belton, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Belton Tigers challenge the Chaparral Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaparral will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Belton surely won't give up without a fight.
