Basketball Recap: Reagan Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Cameron Simmons and KJ Ford

After flying high against Parkland last Tuesday, Reagan came back down to earth. The Reagan Raiders took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Stokes Sauras. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Reagan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of KJ Ford, who posted 12 points and four steals, and Cameron Simmons, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds. Those four steals gave Ford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Webb, who earned six points.

Reagan's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for South Stokes, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reagan will square off against Mount Tabor at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Tabor will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Reagan surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Stokes, they will challenge Starmount at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Starmount is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
