Baseball Game Preview: Murrieta Valley Nighthawks vs. Murrieta Mesa Rams

For the second straight game, Murrieta Valley will face off against Murrieta Mesa. The Nighthawks will venture away from home to face off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Murrieta Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Murrieta Mesa by a score of 9-5 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Murrieta Mesa's part, they got a good showing from Carson Kephart, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kephart is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 7-2 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

Murrieta Valley moved to 4-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Murrieta Mesa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.
