Baseball Game Preview: Rock Island Rocks vs. Freeport Pretzels

The Rock Island Rocks will take on the Freeport Pretzels at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Rock Island beat Sherrard 10-6. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rocks' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Freeport made easy work of Dakota on Wednesday and carried off a 12-2 win. The Pretzels haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Rock Island's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Freeport, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Rock Island skirted past Freeport 3-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Does Rock Island have another victory up their sleeve, or will Freeport turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
