Football Game Preview: Ferriday Trojans vs. Oak Grove Tigers + How To Watch

Ferriday hasn't had much luck against Oak Grove recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Oak Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ferriday, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Ferriday really took it to Madison for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-12 victory. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Ferriday's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jase Harris, who threw for 230 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and Zylon Alexander, who rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. What's more, Harris racked up 160.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Robert Taylor was in the mix as well, providing Ferriday with two scores.

Another reason for the win was Ferriday's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Marvin Davis and Jarell Miller Jr, who racked up 4.5 sacks between them. Davis is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another thorn in Madison's side was Jabari Evans, who made nine total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Oak Grove ended up a good deal behind Mangham on Friday and lost 42-28.

Ferriday's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Oak Grove, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Ferriday took a serious blow against Oak Grove in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 48-6. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
