Soccer Game Preview: Curtis vs. Sumner + How To Watch

The Curtis Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Sumner Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Curtis barely beat Bonney Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings' defense stepped up to hand the Panthers a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sumner came tearing into Monday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Eagles 7-0. Given Sumner's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Graham-Kapowsin are ranked 117th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sumner's victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for Curtis, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Curtis couldn't quite get it done against Sumner when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 3-1. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
