Preview: Klein Cain Hurricanes vs. Tomball Cougars
Klein Cain is 3-0 against Tomball since November of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Klein Cain Hurricanes will be playing at home against the Tomball Cougars at 2:00 p.m. One thing working in Klein Cain's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches.
Even though Waller scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Klein Cain still came out on top. Klein Cain enjoyed a cozy 49-34 victory over Waller. Given Klein Cain's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Waller is ranked 376th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Klein Cain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Issac Mooring, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 188 yards and a touchdown. Darius Rodgers was another key contributor, rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Tomball lost to Klein Collins at home by a decisive 31-17 margin on Friday. Tomball was down 31-10 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Klein Cain is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Tomball, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Klein Cain against Tomball in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 49-10 victory. Does Klein Cain have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tomball turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
