Baseball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

Hoover fell victim to Canfield and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-0.

Hoover got a good showing from Mason Groninger, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Canfield, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-10.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hoover will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Lakewood at 2:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.6, the Rangers 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Canfield, they will square off against Hubbard at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
