Baseball Recap: Tenino Find Success

On Monday, the Tenino Beavers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Charles Wright Tarriers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Beavers.

Austin Gonia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gonia was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Mikey Vassar was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Will Feltus, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Tenino's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Charles Wright, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Tenino will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Overlake at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Charles Wright, they will face off against Cascade Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
