Immaculate took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Bethel, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Wildcats on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Adam Chila spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Immaculate secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Izaiah Scalzo, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Those two runs gave Scalzo a new career-high.

Immaculate's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Bethel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immaculate will venture away from home to take on Southington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Knights have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Bethel, they will square off against Joel Barlow at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
