League recap: Kysor powers Port Allegany with hot hitting week

Northern Tier - Central league recap: 5/22/13

Sam Kysor was the hottest hitter in Northern Tier - Central this week, racking up a 1.000 average, two home runs and three RBIs. Meanwhile, Port Allegany put together a 2-0 week.

The Gators outpaced the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Port Allegany beat Smethport 5-4 and Galeton 17-2.

Port Allegany gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (three), but Cameron County has surrendered a league-fewest 100 base hits over the entire season.

Five batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Sam Kysor, who hit 1.000 this week (5-for-5).

The Raiders' Tyler Wigfield led the league in strikeouts this week with five. He's second in the league with 20 total strikeouts.



Rickie "suave" Bova was an RBI machine on Wednesday, as he knocked in five runs during Port Allegany's 17-2 win over the Tigers. He went 3-for-3 and scored two runs.
