Basketball Recap: Manchester Valley Comes Up Short

If Manchester Valley was riding high fresh off their 71-38 takedown of Francis Scott Key last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Manchester Valley Mavericks fell just short of the Century Knights by a score of 49-47 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Knights are ranked 66th).

When it comes to explaining why Manchester Valley lost, don't look at Colton Enderle. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Enderle is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Hottenstein, who posted 11 points.

Manchester Valley's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Century, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
