Soccer Game Preview: Leonard vs. Boca Raton

The Leonard Lancers will challenge the Boca Raton Bobcats at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Leonard is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Leonard is headed into the contest having not lost since November 15 and will look to keep things rolling. Everything went their way against Palm Beach Lakes back in December of 2024 as Leonard made off with a 5-1 win. Julio Torres Castellon was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Boca Raton hasn't lost a match since December 5, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Palmer Trinity. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Falcons are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boca Raton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five games. As for Leonard, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1-3.

Leonard might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Boca Raton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Leonard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
