Basketball Recap: Oakes comes up short despite Lily Thorpe's strong performance

The Oakes Tornadoes have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 49-41 to West Fargo on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Oakes still got an impressive performance from Lily Thorpe, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Thorpe hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Brianna Schmitz, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.

Oakes' loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for West Fargo, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.

Oakes is on the road again on Monday and plays the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Lisbon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for West Fargo, they will be playing at home against the at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Horace's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
