Baseball Recap: Collinsville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Collinsville won the last time they faced Geraldine and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Collinsville Panthers came out on top against the Geraldine Bulldogs by a score of 8-4. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Gavin Lang made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Jake Middlebrooks was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Kyler Beene was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases.

Collinsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.

Collinsville's record now sits at 8-4. As for Geraldine, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Collinsville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Geraldine: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
