Soccer Game Preview: Cleburne vs. Joshua

The Cleburne Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to face off against the Joshua Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cleburne is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Centennial on Friday. The Yellowjackets lost 3-0 to the Spartans. While losing is never fun, Cleburne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Centennial are ranked 260th).

Meanwhile, Joshua hasn't lost a match since January 29th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They beat Mansfield Timberview by a goal, winning 2-1. Joshua haven't had any issues with Mansfield Timberview recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Joshua's victory bumped their record up to 5-7-5. As for Cleburne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-4 record this season.

Cleburne came out on top in a nail-biter against Joshua when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
