A big part of PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview's victory came down to the chemistry between Lane McAnally and his top target Bryce Davis. McAnally threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes while Davis picked up 126 receiving yards and two scores. What's more, McAnally posted two passing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.
Athens' loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Athens has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 289.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 181.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
