Basketball Recap: Bethany Christian Comes Up Short

Bethany Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The game between them and the Faith Baptist Eagle didn't end well, with Bethany Christian falling 47-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Bethany Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-25 back in December of 2024.

Faith Baptist was led to victory by Bailey Burton and Gigi Montgomery. Burton went 6 of 11 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Montgomery posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Burton has scored at least a third of Faith Baptist's points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Ahrens, who scored four points in addition to eight steals and five assists.

Bethany Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Faith Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethany Christian will welcome Rochester Hills Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Faith Baptist, they will square off against FAITH HomeSchool at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
