Soccer Recap: Uvalde Comes Up Short

Uvalde and La Vernia squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Uvalde had to settle for second. They lost 5-2 to the Bears. Uvalde haven't had much luck with La Vernia recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Diego Granados wasn't going to let La Vernia walk away unscathed as he scored both of Uvalde's goals, bringing his season total up to 15 goals.

Uvalde's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-1. As for La Vernia, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-2 record this season.

Uvalde does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Vernia, they have already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Marble Falls on the 24th.
