Last Saturday, R.W. Goines Stem Academy came up short against iSchool of Lewisville and fell 64-52.
Meanwhile, BigTyme Prep Academy took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 65-36 victory over Universal Academy. Given BigTyme Prep Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Universal Academy is ranked 418th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
BigTyme Prep Academy had a senior duo take command as Mayen Ayuel scored 22 points and Noah Dowling scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dowling has scored all season. Jeff Bogg was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
R.W. Goines Stem Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season. As for BigTyme Prep Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11.
