Softball Recap: Western Dubuque Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Western Dubuque waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Assumption Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in May.

Western Dubuque's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Assumption, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Western Dubuque will venture away from home to challenge Kennedy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bobcats 2.8, the Cougars 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Assumption, they will take on Clinton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The River Kings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
