Council Grove had won three straight games and Reid Buttrey did his part to make it four on Friday. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Riley County Falcons 28-26 with plenty of help from Buttrey, who rushed for 40 yards and two scores, and also threw for 76 yards and a pair of TDs. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Council Grove's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Riley County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Council Grove will take on Osage City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Riley County, they will challenge St. Marys on Friday.
