Beaumont scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Cajon Cowboys, falling 16-10. The Cougars have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Johnnie Gill was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Nelson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Beaumont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cajon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Beaumont is set to challenge their familiar foe Yucaipa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cajon will square off against rival Redlands East Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cowboys 3.9, the Wildcats 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
