Softball Recap: Apollo Eagles vs. Owensboro Catholic Aces
Apollo was the 3-2 winner over Owensboro Catholic when they last played one another on April 14th, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aces on Wednesday.
Arianna Ramirez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Keelan Wettstain, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Owensboro Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apollo will challenge Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Owensboro Catholic, they will take on Evansville Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
