Volleyball Recap: Hendersonville Comes Up Short

Hendersonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Mount Juliet Golden Bears. The Commandos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Hendersonville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-14.

Rose Minor paced Hendersonville's offense, picking up 15 kills. Minor got some help from Chloe Combs and her 26 assists.

Mount Juliet's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Waters, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Waters a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Glover, who had six digs and three aces.

Hendersonville's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Mount Juliet, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Hendersonville will face off against Portland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Juliet, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Columbia Central on the 12th.
