Recap: Conestoga Cougars vs. Syracuse Rockets
The Conestoga Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Syracuse, falling 59-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Conestoga in their matchups with Syracuse: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alyssa Batt, who scored seven points along with two blocks. Davida Garrett was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Conestoga struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Conestoga dropped their record down to 3-18 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Syracuse, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Conestoga does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Syracuse, they will face off against Auburn at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
